The company was founded in 2001 as a spin-off of a scientific and technological park by a group of young engineers with the initial intention to create a service and consulting company of technology transfer for industrial innovation and development. They were guided by Prof. Renato Guerriero, passed away in April 2019, who was one of the major Italian experts in the field of chemistry, physics, innovative materials and metallurgy of non-ferrous metal, and intellectual owner of more than 100 patents. The team has always been represented by Eng. Giorgio La Sala, who is the Founding member, CEO and Technical Manager of the company, with a brilliant Chemical Engineering background and a long-term experience as Senior Process Engineer and Research Director in Italy and abroad.

After several years of research and fine tuning of the technology, STC has realized a pilot plant able to regenerate about 2 t/d of lead oxides starting from exhausted lead paste. The batteries produced with the nanostructured oxides have a greater capacity and a longer life than those produced with traditional processes.
